This position is for a Data Engineer Consultant at DAS42, a Data & Analytics Consultancy, and is remote within the United States.
The role involves designing and implementing scalable data solutions, including data models, ETL pipelines, and cloud data warehouses.
The consultant will advise clients on optimizing their data environments and will work in a client-facing capacity.
Strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences are required.
Responsibilities include guiding clients in optimizing data environments, developing system engineering and architectures, implementing data warehouse solutions, and teaching technical data modeling concepts.
The consultant will also support, maintain, and document client data environments, operate within project management frameworks, and collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering is required.
Candidates should have 3 to 4 years of experience in data analytics or data engineering roles.
A strong passion for problem-solving and the ability to learn new technical information quickly is essential.
Experience with developer tools and workflows, including git/github, SSH, and command line, is necessary.
Familiarity with project management software such as Basecamp, JIRA, or ASANA is required.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Google Cloud (BigQuery, Redshift) is needed.
Proficiency with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Microsoft Power BI is required.
Candidates should have experience with data warehousing and the Snowflake platform.
The ability to optimize database and query performance is essential.
Skills in scripting languages (Python, R, Perl, bash) and advanced SQL are required.
Prior consulting/services experience is preferred, as well as experience working with the Media & Entertainment or Telecom sectors.
