Fandango is seeking a Data Engineer II to work on their data systems and services.
The role involves collaborating with other data engineers to deliver projects and systems that are critical to Fandango's business.
Data engineers are expected to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling new challenges.
Responsibilities include designing, building, testing, scaling, and maintaining data pipelines from various source systems according to business and technical requirements.
The position requires active participation in improving the codebase and oversight in all aspects of the team, including agile ceremonies.
Collaboration with engineers and product managers to understand data needs is essential.
Participation in Agile ceremonies such as standups, retrospectives, and sprint planning is required.
Troubleshooting and fixing production issues as they arise is part of the job.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of applied experience in Data Engineering, including building Data Pipelines, Orchestration, Data Modeling, and Data Lake.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with SQL, is necessary, with experience in writing reusable and efficient code to automate analysis and data processes.
Experience in Data Warehousing, including relational and dimensional data modeling, is required.
Strong working experience with various data sources, including APIs, real-time feeds, and structured and semi-structured file formats, is essential.
Candidates should have experience processing large datasets and building code using Glue, Apache Airflow/Amazon MWAA, SQL, Python, and pySpark.
Experience in developing near Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines is required.
Familiarity with AWS data management tools such as S3, Redshift, and DynamoDB, as well as related tools like Athena, EMR, Glue, and Lambda, is necessary.
Experience working in an agile/scrum environment is required.

This position is fully remote, allowing employees to work from their residence.
The salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $140,000.
