Description:

  • As a Data Engineer II, you will work on data systems and services alongside other data engineers to deliver projects and systems critical to Fandango's business.
  • You are expected to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the business.
  • Responsibilities include contributing to the design, build, testing, scaling, and maintenance of data pipelines from various source systems and streams, according to business and technical requirements.
  • You will continually improve the codebase and actively participate in all aspects of the team, including agile ceremonies.
  • Collaboration with engineers and product managers to understand data needs is essential.
  • You will participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing production issues as they occur is part of the role.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • You must have 5+ years of applied experience in Data Engineering, including building Data Pipelines, Orchestration, Data Modeling, and Data Lake.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with SQL, is necessary, with experience in writing reusable and efficient code to automate analysis and data processes.
  • Experience in Data Warehousing, including relational and dimensional data modeling, is required.
  • Strong working experience with various data sources such as APIs, real-time feeds, and structured and semi-structured file formats is essential.
  • You should have experience processing large datasets and building code using Glue, Apache Airflow/Amazon MWAA, SQL, Python, and pySpark.
  • Experience in developing near Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines is required.
  • Familiarity with AWS data management tools (S3, Redshift, DynamoDB) and related tools (Athena, EMR, Glue, Lambda) is necessary.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment is required.
