As a Data Engineer II, you will work on data systems and services alongside other data engineers to deliver projects and systems critical to Fandango's business.
You are expected to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the business.
Responsibilities include contributing to the design, build, testing, scaling, and maintenance of data pipelines from various source systems and streams, according to business and technical requirements.
You will continually improve the codebase and actively participate in all aspects of the team, including agile ceremonies.
Collaboration with engineers and product managers to understand data needs is essential.
You will participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
Troubleshooting and fixing production issues as they occur is part of the role.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
You must have 5+ years of applied experience in Data Engineering, including building Data Pipelines, Orchestration, Data Modeling, and Data Lake.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with SQL, is necessary, with experience in writing reusable and efficient code to automate analysis and data processes.
Experience in Data Warehousing, including relational and dimensional data modeling, is required.
Strong working experience with various data sources such as APIs, real-time feeds, and structured and semi-structured file formats is essential.
You should have experience processing large datasets and building code using Glue, Apache Airflow/Amazon MWAA, SQL, Python, and pySpark.
Experience in developing near Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines is required.
Familiarity with AWS data management tools (S3, Redshift, DynamoDB) and related tools (Athena, EMR, Glue, Lambda) is necessary.
Experience working in an agile/scrum environment is required.
