The team is currently composed of Data Analysts, and they are looking for their first Data Engineer to build and scale their data infrastructure.
The Data Engineer will take ownership of the infrastructure, set standards for scalability and reliability, and lay the foundations for a scalable data platform to support Joko's growth and AI-driven features.
Responsibilities include scaling data infrastructure, designing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, managing data access, and collaborating with Data Analysts and stakeholders.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role, demonstrating ownership over building and/or scaling data infrastructure.
A proven track record of implementing or scaling a modern data stack in a startup or scale-up environment is required.
Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with hands-on experience with orchestration tools and cloud environments such as Snowflake, GCP, or AWS.
A strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing principles, and performance optimization techniques is necessary.
Candidates should possess a pragmatic, curious, and proactive mindset, valuing clean architecture and continuous improvement.
The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is important.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
