  • The role of Data Engineer involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for efficient processing and analysis of large, complex data sets.
  • Responsibilities include developing and maintaining automated data processing pipelines using Google Cloud, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and completeness, and implementing data governance policies.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and optimize data models for analytical and reporting purposes, while monitoring and maintaining data infrastructure for availability and performance.

Requirements:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle is necessary.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive is expected.
  • Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Apache Airflow is essential.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python, Java, or Scala, is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment are necessary.
