Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join their data team, focusing on orchestrating and maintaining data workflows using Dagster.
The role involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable and reliable data pipelines across various environments.
Responsibilities include developing data transformation tasks and pipelines, and collaborating closely with business analysts, data architects, and business stakeholders.
Key tasks include orchestrating data pipelines, managing configuration-driven pipelines, developing scalable data services, implementing data quality and testing, and setting up monitoring and observability for workflows.
The Data Engineer will also document pipelines and configurations, promote best practices, and support improvements to the data platform by integrating new tools and automating deployment.
Requirements:
Candidates must have solid knowledge of Python and experience writing production-grade code in data workflows.
Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational databases and data warehouse concepts are required.
Experience with ETL/ELT development using tools like Spark, Pandas, or custom scripts is essential.
Familiarity with data pipeline testing, quality gates, and configuration validation is necessary.
An understanding of data lineage, metadata tracking, and reproducibility in workflow systems is required.
Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Nice-to-have qualifications include hands-on experience with Dagster or modern orchestration tools, experience deploying Dagster with Kubernetes and Docker, familiarity with CI/CD for data workflows, knowledge of data modeling and warehouse design, and experience with data catalog tools and metadata APIs.
A minimum of B2 English proficiency is required, and knowledge of German is an advantage.
