TigerData is seeking a skilled and innovative Data Engineer to build scalable data infrastructure and enable data-driven decision making.
The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data systems that support analytics, product insights, and business intelligence initiatives.
Data Engineers ensure teams have reliable, accurate, and accessible data for informed decision-making.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes, managing data infrastructure, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with various teams.
The ideal candidate should be systematic, detail-oriented, performance-focused, and passionate about building reliable data infrastructure.
The position is remote, with a preference for candidates based in the United States or Europe, and requires fluency in English.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role, with significant experience in building and maintaining production data pipelines.
Expert proficiency in SQL for complex data transformations and performance optimization, with strong PostgreSQL experience preferred.
Proficiency in Python or another programming language for data pipeline development and automation.
Experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster.
Strong experience with cloud data platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure and their associated data services.
Understanding of data modeling concepts and database design principles for OLTP and OLAP systems.
Experience with data visualization and BI tools, and building data marts for analytical consumption.
Strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with strong communication skills.
Understanding of software engineering best practices including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with time-series databases or data infrastructure products is a significant advantage.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
