  • TigerData is seeking a skilled and innovative Data Engineer to build scalable data infrastructure and enable data-driven decision making.
  • The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data systems that support analytics, product insights, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Data Engineers ensure teams have reliable, accurate, and accessible data for informed decision-making.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes, managing data infrastructure, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with various teams.
  • The ideal candidate should be systematic, detail-oriented, performance-focused, and passionate about building reliable data infrastructure.
  • The position is remote, with a preference for candidates based in the United States or Europe, and requires fluency in English.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role, with significant experience in building and maintaining production data pipelines.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL for complex data transformations and performance optimization, with strong PostgreSQL experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python or another programming language for data pipeline development and automation.
  • Experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster.
  • Strong experience with cloud data platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure and their associated data services.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and database design principles for OLTP and OLAP systems.
  • Experience with data visualization and BI tools, and building data marts for analytical consumption.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with time-series databases or data infrastructure products is a significant advantage.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
