TigerData is seeking a skilled and innovative Data Engineer to build scalable data infrastructure and enable data-driven decision making.
The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data systems that support analytics, product insights, and business intelligence initiatives.
Data Engineers ensure teams have reliable, accurate, and accessible data for informed decision-making.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes, managing data infrastructure, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with various teams.
The position requires a systematic, detail-oriented, and performance-focused individual who is excited by technical challenges and passionate about building reliable data infrastructure.
The company is remote-first, with a preference for candidates based in the United States or Europe, and fluency in English is required.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role, with significant experience in building and maintaining production data pipelines.
Expert proficiency in SQL is required, particularly for complex data transformations and performance optimization, with strong PostgreSQL experience preferred.
Proficiency in Python or another programming language for data pipeline development, automation, and scripting is necessary.
Experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster is required.
Strong experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their associated data services is essential.
Candidates should understand data modeling concepts, dimensional modeling, and database design principles for OLTP and OLAP systems.
Experience with data visualization and BI tools, as well as building data marts for analytical consumption, is required.
A strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy principles is necessary, including experience with data lineage and cataloging tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues are essential.
Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with strong communication skills is required.
Understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control and CI/CD pipelines, is necessary.
Experience with time-series databases or data infrastructure products is a significant advantage.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, is required.
