Remote Data Engineer

Description:

• Transfr is on a mission to help create pathways to career success through immersive career exploration and training simulations.
• As a Data Engineer at Transfr, you will build data solutions from multiple sources to enable fast, data-driven decision making on usability, learning, product engagement, and quality.
• You will collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product designers across the company and engage in cutting-edge research to contribute to learning research and analytics.
• Key responsibilities include mapping business definitions to logical definitions, instrumenting data solutions, building infrastructure for data extraction and loading, creating real-time data solutions, maintaining data pipeline architecture, assisting internal teams with data-related issues, supporting cross-functional teams with data strategies, adhering to data privacy guidelines, and ensuring data quality.

Requirements:

• You must have 4+ years of experience as a data engineer, analytics engineer, data analyst, or a similar role focused on data architecture and warehouse development.
• Proven expertise in SQL, Python, and cloud platform technologies, specifically GCP, is required.
• A deep understanding of data warehousing, modeling, and real-time analytics to support experimentation and product intelligence is necessary.
• Proficiency in modern data tooling such as BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, and Pub/Sub, as well as version control systems like Git, is essential.
• Knowledge of robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and streaming data solutions is required.
• Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools such as Looker or Tableau is important.
• You should have knowledge of data privacy, governance, and security best practices, including compliance frameworks like GDPR and FERPA.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders are necessary.
• You must demonstrate success in working cross-functionally with product managers, researchers, engineers, and designers.

Benefits:

• The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $120,000 - $132,000, depending on factors such as credentials, relevant experience, and job location.
• In addition to salary, this role may be eligible for additional company benefits such as stock options, 401(k), paid vacation and sick time, and health benefits.
