Description:

  • Contribute to the development of a new Data Lakehouse platform using the latest technologies in the GCP ecosystem.
  • Take ownership of migrating data from ClickHouse to BigQuery, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and performance.
  • Design a scalable BigQuery architecture for analytical and operational workloads.
  • Develop and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Cloud Composer and DataForm.
  • Build aggregated datasets and data marts for analytics, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Implement automated data quality checks and monitoring to ensure reliability.
  • Monitor and optimize production data infrastructure for performance and cost management.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer in a large-scale data environment.
  • Strong skills in data modeling and data warehouse methodologies.
  • Experience in designing and developing ETL workflows; familiarity with DBT is a plus.
  • Proficient in writing complex, optimized SQL queries.
  • Confident in using Python, particularly with Spark.
  • Experience in distributed computing environments.
  • Deep knowledge of BigQuery, including its partitioning, clustering, and cost optimization features.
  • Familiarity with ClickHouse architecture, SQL dialect, and migration processes.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, and Compute Engine.
  • Strong skills in dimensional modeling and data mart design.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices for data workflows.
  • Experience in monitoring, alerting, and validating production data pipelines.
  • Ability to manage GCP costs effectively.
  • Proven track record in large-scale system migrations.
  • An ownership mindset with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Experience integrating with BI tools like Tableau or Looker is a plus.
