The Data Governance Lead will serve as a hands-on leader to drive the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide data governance framework.
This role is critical for solving current data challenges, including inconsistent business rules, unclear data ownership, lack of data quality standards, fragmented business taxonomies, and absence of a centralized data catalog.
The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders to establish scalable governance practices that increase trust in data, reduce inefficiencies, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The Data Governance Lead will promote shared accountability, transparency, and the mindset that data is a strategic asset.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing a data governance framework, developing policies and standards, managing business rules and taxonomies, ensuring data quality, and facilitating data ownership and stewardship.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise data strategy.
A proven track record in designing and operationalizing governance frameworks at scale is required.
Strong knowledge of data quality principles, business rules management, and metadata standards is essential.
Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Atlan, or Data.World is a plus.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills are necessary.
The ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a cross-functional environment is required.
