  • Beacon Biosignals is seeking an experienced Data Scientist III, Biostatistics to help collect, ingest, analyze, and interpret petabytes of EEG data to drive advancements in brain health.
  • This role is part of the Biostatistics function within Beacon's Data Science Group, which consists of talented individuals with expertise across neuroscience, biostatistics, and data wrangling.
  • The position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support Life Sciences engagements with industry partners focused on novel therapies for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders.
  • Responsibilities include developing statistical analysis plans for clinical trials, executing analyses, and writing results and interpretations.
  • The role requires performing sample size calculations, co-authoring scientific reports, delivering impactful data visualizations, and writing reusable, documented code for analytical results.
  • Candidates should be based in the United States to minimize logistical hurdles and maximize timezone overlap with colleagues.
  • Success in this role involves leading and supporting multiple concurrent studies, including planning and execution.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have multiple years of industry experience using biostatistics to analyze clinical trial and/or real-world health data.
  • A deep familiarity with statistical modeling, including interpretation and diagnostics, is required.
  • Experience in designing and overseeing experiments that leverage data across disparate sources is essential.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to collaboration, open communication, and feedback loops are necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with substantial experience presenting analyses to external audiences.
  • Candidates should be organized and calm under tight deadlines amidst ambiguity.
  • Experience writing code for readability and familiarity with version control, unit tests, and debugging is necessary.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Julia, AWS, Superset, Pandoc, SQL, and GraphQL is preferred.
  • A preference for open source dependencies and comfort in a highly asynchronous hybrid work environment is required.
