Requirements:
Education: A Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
Experience: A minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in data science, with at least 3 years focused on e-commerce, retail, or a similar high-volume consumer-facing industry is necessary.
Demonstrated experience in building and deploying data science models across a large and diverse assortment of products is essential.
Proven leadership experience, including leading projects and mentoring junior team members, is required.
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Python and essential data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) is mandatory.
A strong command of SQL for data extraction and manipulation from various databases is needed.
Extensive experience with machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design (A/B testing) is required.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, a strong analytical mindset, and attention to detail are necessary, along with the ability to translate business problems into quantitative questions and actionable solutions.
