Remote Data Scientist, Marketing

Description:

• The Wealthfront Data Science team utilizes rich financial and behavioral data to influence Marketing, Product, and information security decisions.
• The Data Scientist will be embedded within Wealthfront’s Marketing team, which aims to acquire new clients and increase brand awareness through targeted advertising campaigns.
• A key focus is understanding and quantifying the financial impact of marketing, including customer acquisition costs and payback periods.
• The role involves modeling how market, demographic, and economic factors affect costs and profitability outcomes.
• The Data Scientist will translate economic problem statements into mathematical frameworks, solve these problems, and communicate results to the team.
• Responsibilities include modeling marketing costs, forecasting revenue generation, providing accuracy and explainability to forecasts, creating reusable libraries for analyses, collaborating with the Marketing team, articulating project rationales, and influencing marketing strategy.

Requirements:

• A Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or Natural Sciences, with 4-8 years of prior experience as a Data Scientist is required.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL is necessary.
• A strong foundation in practical Statistics and machine learning is essential.
• Strong mathematical and software engineering skills are required.
• Fluency in both long and short form oral and written communication is necessary.
• The ability to sharpen or reframe project requirements through effective collaboration is required.
• A strong desire and ability to mentor junior Data Scientists by exemplifying math, engineering, and technical communication skills is essential.
• Experience in a Marketing facing role is preferred but not required.

• The estimated annual salary range for this position is $164,000 - $211,000 USD, plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
