The Wormhole Foundation is seeking a Data Scientist to empower research and development in blockchain interoperability technologies.
The Data Scientist will work across product, engineering, and business teams to extract insights from complex datasets.
This role reports to the Strategy Lead and will directly influence decision-making, drive product development, detect anomalies, and help shape the future of Wormhole.
Responsibilities include supporting strategic initiatives by analyzing on-chain and off-chain data, creating statistical tooling to monitor network parameters, identifying and executing on data-based opportunities, collaborating to maintain robust data pipelines, and handling other special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of industrial experience in data science.
Demonstrated expertise in working with, procuring, and tabulating on-chain data in various blockchain environments, with a focus on EVM and SVM.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is required.
Expertise with big data warehouse systems like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks is necessary.
Experience in SQL and NoSQL databases is essential.
Candidates should have experience with workflow orchestration management and source control management.
Experience with data ingestion following ELT best practices is required.
Candidates must have experience in building infrastructure for batch, micro-batch, or stream data processing at scale.
Familiarity with cloud service database management (GCP, Azure, etc.) is necessary.
Experience with BI and visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.) is a plus.
Expertise in machine learning, statistics, and a keen interest in experimentation is required.
Internal knowledge of open source or related big data technologies is preferred.
Candidates should be motivated, creative self-starters excited to work in a meritocratic environment.
Enjoyment of working with a remote-first team and being based in the US East, UK, or Europe timezone is necessary.
