The Data Systems Architect will lead the design of a centralized data architecture for a large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiative in West Africa’s Agriculture Supply Chains sector.
The role involves mapping existing data flows, assessing current system capabilities, and developing an integrated future-state architecture for smarter decision-making.
Key responsibilities include conducting stakeholder interviews, mapping data flows, assessing data quality, defining ideal data architecture, creating design documentation, translating user needs into technical requirements, and facilitating stakeholder engagement.
Requirements:
The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing data system architecture.
A minimum of 8-10 years' experience in engineering, data, or a related field is required.
Proven experience in multi-stakeholder data governance, access control, and interoperability is essential.
Proficiency in API integration and data exchange standards is necessary.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
Exceptional communication skills with senior international stakeholders, such as corporate CEOs, are essential.
Business or native fluency in English is mandatory.
Desirable qualifications include experience with Agri-commodity supply chains, sustainability, or field-level data collection systems, understanding of GIS, traceability, or certification systems, and proficiency in additional languages, particularly French.
