Remote Database Architect - Remote

Description:

• As a Database Architect, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, securing, and maintaining our database schema and infrastructure to support enterprise-class SaaS operations.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, design, architecture, performance optimization, security, and cloud database technologies.
• You will enhance our data architecture for scalability and efficiency, focusing on reliability, quality, security, efficiency, and automation.
• Your solutions will directly contribute to customer success and help drive TradeCentric’s next phase of growth.
• You will report to the Sr. Director of Architecture and work remotely with a schedule from Monday to Friday, ensuring working hours overlap with US Eastern time at least from 9am to 1pm.
• Responsibilities include maintaining and optimizing database schema and performance, implementing database security and compliance policies, developing backup and disaster recovery strategies, managing database monitoring tools, optimizing queries, executing cloud database migrations, developing automation scripts, collaborating with engineering teams, and supporting data pipeline development.

Requirements:

• You should have 7-9 years of database administration experience in a SaaS environment.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Expertise in MariaDB/MySQL on Amazon RDS and/or Google Cloud SQL, and ElasticSearch is required.
• A deep understanding and application of database security best practices, encryption, access control, and compliance requirements including GDPR is necessary.
• Experience implementing reliable backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies is essential.
• You must have a proven track record of optimizing complex queries, indexing strategies, and caching mechanisms.
• The ability to assist in the design of scalable and efficient database schemas is required.
• Experience in establishing database monitoring tools and processes is necessary.
• You should have experience in automation and infrastructure scripting using Python, Bash, or Terraform.
• Experience supporting or working with data pipeline architectures is required.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) is necessary.
