Description:
The Database Engineer will develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL Server databases in a dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities include collaborating with clients and internal teams to understand user needs and designing software to meet these needs.
The role requires the development of ETL, Data Warehouse, Data Vault, Data Modeling, Big Data, and Data Migration tasks.
The Database Engineer will collaborate with development teams to design efficient data models and ensure seamless integration with applications.
Participation in architectural and design discussions to ensure APIs align with business goals is expected.
The engineer will monitor and optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing strategies, and resource allocation.
The role includes planning and executing database upgrades, migrations, and integrations with cross-functional teams.
Providing technical support and troubleshooting for database-related incidents and queries is a key responsibility.
The engineer will diagnose and resolve database-related issues to ensure minimal downtime and high availability.
Implementation of performance monitoring and alerting systems to proactively manage potential issues is required.
The position involves designing data models and database schemas for specific application areas.
Collaboration with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems supporting required applications is necessary.
Documentation of database architectures, configurations, and processes to ensure maintainability and compliance is part of the job.
The engineer must be able to work 2nd-shift (3 PM to 12 midnight), Mondays to Fridays.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.
At least five years of experience as a software developer or database engineer is required.
Experience with Azure cloud services and platform is preferred.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management is necessary.
In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions for SQL Server is required.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automating database tasks is needed.
Experience working with SQL and writing queries for relational databases is essential.
Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, etc.) and designing efficient queries is required.
Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, or big data technologies is preferred.
Knowledge of additional database platforms and modern data architecture patterns is beneficial.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines are necessary.
The ability to participate in Agile sprinting and ceremonies is required.
