Jalasoft is looking for a skilled Database Engineer with cloud experience to join their innovative team.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in database design, development, and management while working on cloud-based solutions.
As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing data capabilities and ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of database systems in a cloud environment.
You will support day-to-day database operations across Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, and legacy SQL Server environments.
Your tasks will include writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.
You will collaborate to implement scalable, low-latency database services for OLTP and analytical workloads.
You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for schema migrations using tools like Liquibase or Flyway.
You will contribute to the automation of database provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
You will diagnose and resolve performance issues using telemetry tools.
You will support ETL pipelines and real-time data movement.
You will document and maintain operational runbooks, architecture decisions, and troubleshooting guides.
You will partner with principal engineers to design reusable patterns and blueprints.
This position allows for remote work.
Requirements:
A Bachelorβs degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience is required.
You must have 4+ years of professional experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
Solid knowledge of writing and tuning SQL queries, views, and stored procedures is necessary.
An understanding of data modeling principles and indexing strategies is required.
Exposure to database automation and CI/CD practices using tools such as Git, Liquibase, Flyway, or similar is essential.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform) is a strong plus.
Familiarity with Agile software development processes is required.
A basic understanding of cloud database concepts (e.g., Cloud SQL, managed backups, IAM) is necessary.
A willingness to learn and contribute to observability and operational excellence through tools like Cloud Monitoring or OpenTelemetry is expected.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are required.
Excellent communication and documentation skills are necessary.
