ClickHouse is seeking a Database Reliability Engineer for its Core Team, with the position available remotely in the Netherlands, UK, or Germany.
The role involves building and leading processes to enhance the reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of ClickHouse.
Responsibilities include collaborating with various teams such as Control Plane, Dataplane, Security, Support, and Operations to implement ClickHouse effectively for customers.
The engineer will manage engineering escalation, response, investigations, and post-mortem analysis, including conducting blameless postmortems.
Key tasks include improving reliability and performance, creating metrics and alerts, identifying root causes of common problems, enhancing incident response processes, and managing on-call processes.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in Reliability Engineering, QA, or customer-facing engineering.
Previous experience operating ClickHouse or other SQL databases in production is necessary.
A strong understanding of distributed database internals and SQL, particularly ClickHouse, is a major plus.
Scripting experience with Shell or Python and the ability to read and understand C++ code are required.
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is essential.
Strong problem-solving skills and solid production debugging skills are necessary.
