Remote DevOps Architect

Description:

• OffSec is seeking an experienced DevOps Architect to lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable lab environments for cybersecurity training and certification programs.
• This senior-level position will collaborate with Security Researchers and Architects to create sophisticated labs and vulnerable machine environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• The role requires expertise in cloud platforms, virtualization technologies, and modern DevOps practices to design resilient, scalable, and secure lab environments.
• The architect will ensure the environments can support thousands of concurrent users while maintaining realistic attack scenarios for students.
• Responsibilities include designing multi-tier lab environments, developing scalable infrastructure solutions, creating hybrid cloud architectures, and establishing infrastructure standards.
• The position also involves partnering with engineers, providing technical guidance, leading architectural reviews, and driving infrastructure automation practices.
• The architect will implement CI/CD pipelines, develop infrastructure automation, and manage cloud and virtualization environments.
• Network architecture and security responsibilities include designing complex network architectures, implementing security controls, and ensuring proper isolation between student lab environments.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Expert-level knowledge of OpenStack and VMware vSphere is required.
• A deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and network security is essential.
• Extensive experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation is necessary.
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, and configuration management tools is required.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration is needed.
• Advanced knowledge of Linux, Windows server, and Active Directory administration is expected.
• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Architecture roles is required.
• Candidates should have 3+ years in a senior or lead technical role with architectural responsibilities.
• A proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems is necessary.
• Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery implementations is preferred.
• A background in cybersecurity, penetration testing, or vulnerability research environments is preferred.
