Description:

  • The DevOps Engineer II at Verimatrix is responsible for the creation, deployment, and operations of a large product suite that enables content protection and security for video delivered via satellite, cable, or the Internet.
  • The Engineer will lead their teammates to build, test, deliver, and monitor high-performing, scalable, high-quality products.
  • This role involves working collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate systems, automate and streamline operations and processes, and build and maintain tools for deployment, observability, monitoring, and operations.
  • The Engineer is expected to be proactive, interactive, creative, and flexible.
  • Main responsibilities include providing support and troubleshooting escalated customer incidents and internal cloud requests, defining support metrics, identifying and providing corresponding trainings and runbooks, deploying and managing cloud environments with Public Cloud Providers, automating manual efforts such as building, testing, and deploying, implementing tools for system monitoring and operations, implementing network, security, and identity services in compliance with corporate Cloud governance and industry best practices, keeping up to speed with industry best practices and trends in DevOps & Engineering, and becoming an expert at serverless architecture.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess good presentation, meeting facilitation, and communication skills in English across geographies, cultures, and time zones.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and high attention to detail are required.
  • Experience with Observability tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, or similar is necessary.
  • Candidates should have coding and scripting experience in languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, or similar.
  • A solid understanding of Linux and networking concepts is essential.
  • Candidates must have a solid understanding of cloud infrastructures, specifically AWS or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, including documentation, are required.
  • An understanding of source control management (git) is necessary.
  • Candidates should have an understanding of cryptography principles.
  • Additional experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools (CodeFresh, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of languages other than English is considered a bonus.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Candidates must have 2 or more years of related work experience, specifically 2 or more years of hands-on operational, DevOps, or production services experience.

Benefits:

  • Compensation will be based on experience, ranging from $115,000 to $120,000 USD annually.
