The position is for a DevOps Engineer at Open Energy Transition (OET), a remote-first, mission-driven non-profit organization.
The role is fully remote, available to candidates in Lithuania, Poland, and Croatia.
The employment type is full-time, and proficiency in English is required, with other languages being an advantage.

The DevOps Engineer will report to the Head of Software Engineering and work closely with other engineers and modelers.
The primary project will involve OET’s Cloud Solver, an internal tool for provisioning, deploying, and managing cloud resources for energy modeling.
Responsibilities include setting up code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, automating tasks, and ensuring code quality.
Knowledge of Python and the PyPSA model is a plus, as most modelers work with these technologies.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
Candidates must have experience deploying cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure) and managing distributed microservices-based web applications.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (OpenTofu) is required.
Experience with monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana) and Python environment management (venv, conda, uv) is necessary.
Nice to have experience with data workflow management (Snakemake) and distributed computing on HPCs (e.g., SLURM).
Effective asynchronous communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
Fluency in English is required, and experience in the energy sector or at a startup is a bonus.
