  • The role involves working on internal and client projects, primarily focusing on OET’s Cloud Solver, which automates the provisioning, deployment, and management of cloud resources for energy modeling.
  • Responsibilities include provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure, deploying software products securely, setting up security measures for client data, automating routine tasks, and developing tools to improve system efficiency.
  • The engineer will also set up observability and monitoring tools, conduct system performance tuning, and work with Python-based data processing and modeling pipelines.
  • The position requires proficiency in English and offers a flexible, remote work environment.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must have experience deploying cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure) and managing distributed microservices-based web applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (OpenTofu) is required.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana) and Python environment management (venv, conda, uv) is necessary.
  • Knowledge of data workflow management (Snakemake) and distributed computing on HPCs (SLURM) is a plus.
  • Effective asynchronous communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
  • Fluency in English is required, and experience in a startup or the energy sector is a bonus.
