  • The Experienced Developer Relations Engineer will create reference implementations, documentation, and tooling to assist external developers at financial institutions and fintechs in building APIs to Plaid’s FDX specification at scale.
  • The role aims to position Plaid as an industry leader in Open Banking.
  • Responsibilities include improving the usability, content presentation, and organization of existing documentation on Plaid's website.
  • The engineer will create new tutorials and topic-specific guides related to Plaid's FDX API spec and Open Finance APIs.
  • They will also create reference implementations and architectures for implementing Plaid's FDX API spec.
  • Maintaining and improving the Postman collection and other developer-facing tools is part of the job.
  • The engineer will act as the voice of the developer, providing input on crafting delightful product experiences for Plaid FDX developers.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 4-8 years of experience as a Developer Relations Engineer, Developer Advocate, Developer Evangelist, or in related roles such as Software Engineer, Technical Writer, Implementation Specialist, or Sales Engineer.
  • Applicants should be able to fluidly create clear, idiomatic code in at least one widely-used backend language.
  • The ability to create reference architectures is required.
  • Candidates must be able to write clear, professional quality developer documentation.
  • Quick learning of new technologies and concepts is essential.
  • Strong developer empathy is necessary, with the ability to understand and communicate concepts that are most important to developers.
  • Nice-to-have requirements include experience with identity solutions like OAuth, open banking and/or FDX, OpenAPI, and multimedia creation skills such as making slide decks, technical diagrams, web frontends, and/or video content.

  • The target base salary for this role ranges from $115,824 to $226,800 per year, with additional compensation in the form of equity and/or commission depending on the position offered.
