Description:

  • Our Client is one of the United States’ largest insurers, providing a wide range of insurance and financial services products with gross written premiums well over US$25 Billion (P&C).
  • They serve more than 10 million U.S. households with over 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 18,500 employees.
  • The role will support the development of the code base underlying the automated underwriting engine, working in AWS environments, with a focus on object-oriented programming (OOP) tasks in Python.
  • Key responsibilities include applying advanced levels of critical thinking through expert-level Python coding in pandas and pytest to identify and respond to defects and fix bugs within custom in-house software solutions.
  • The developer will implement new features within custom in-house software solutions using advanced coding skills in Python within an AWS ecosystem.
  • Collaboration with an adjacent analytics/data-science/decision-science team is essential, as they perform monitoring and operational R&D tasks associated with the automated underwriting engine.
  • The developer will produce detailed technical documentation for the custom in-house software solutions, balancing the requirements of both technicians and auditors.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Python developer, coding, or software engineering in Python or a similar language is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, MLOps, Data Science, or Analytics is necessary.
  • Full English fluency is required for effective communication.
  • Experience with independent projects or internships is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Object-oriented Programming (OOP) is required.
  • Entry-level experience in Data Science is preferred.
  • Entry-level experience in learning model development is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud is a plus.
