Twist is seeking a Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Field Application Scientist (FAS) to join their Sales team as the primary technical field contact for both Twist and its customers.
The NGS FAS will act as a liaison between customers and Twist, responsible for pre- and post-sales technical support and market development for Twist’s NGS targeted enrichment product line.
This position is remote, with travel requirements of up to 60%.
Responsibilities include providing expert understanding of Twist’s NGS capabilities, supporting the sales team, conducting local and regional travel, managing collaborations, and providing high-level technical support to customers.
The role involves assisting with probe design, library generation, data analysis, experimental design, and project management.
The FAS will also liaise with various internal teams and provide feedback on customer requirements for new applications or products.
Keeping informed of competitive market intelligence and reporting trends to Sales and Product Management is also a key responsibility.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive NGS experience, including familiarity with Illumina NGS instrument setup, DNA and RNA library construction, and various enrichment techniques.
A BA/BS with 3-5 years of NGS experience, MS with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of NGS experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field is required.
Strong knowledge of the NGS market and vendors is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate high attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 60% is necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Experimental design experience is a must, while project management and automation experience is a plus.
Benefits:
The base cash compensation for this role in the New York Metropolitan Area ranges from $115,000 to $151,000 USD.
In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible for bonuses, equity, and a generous benefits package.
Final compensation will be determined by factors such as candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location.
