The Founding Backend Engineer will develop the backend infrastructure for features such as conversations, memory, real-time personalization, and secure APIs for the iOS app.

The role involves refactoring the current C# / .NET Core backend into Python (FastAPI) and building robust REST and GraphQL APIs.
The engineer will deploy microservices on AWS (EKS) using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, and manage CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
The position also includes managing vector databases for memory and personalization, integrating LLMs, and building emotion-aware systems.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development.
Experience in shipping entire production backends at high-growth early-stage startups is required.
Proficiency in .NET is necessary for short-term work, but a preference for Python and modern infrastructure is expected.
Experience in integrating or scaling LLM-based products, particularly with emotion, memory, or personalization layers, is a bonus.
A strong understanding of systems thinking, fast response times, and clean abstractions is essential.
Candidates should have experience with zero-to-one projects and the ability to manage both product and infrastructure.
Preference will be given to candidates from the EU.
