Remote Front-End Developer

Description:

• We are seeking a Front-End Developer to assist in transforming our e-commerce site using BigCommerce.
• This is a project-based, on-call contractor position that allows for flexible working hours.
• The developer will be responsible for turning Figma designs into functional BigCommerce templates.
• The role requires ensuring that the site looks great on various devices, from large screens to mobile phones.
• The developer will need to manage CSS and JavaScript effectively to avoid cross-browser issues.
• Collaboration with designers and marketers is essential, as well as maintaining speed, SEO-friendliness, and ADA compliance.
• The developer should be comfortable with the phrase “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.”

Requirements:

• Candidates must be fluent in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and possess a sense of humor.
• Hands-on experience with BigCommerce, the Stencil framework, and headless-friendly workflows is required.
• Familiarity with Git, particularly pushing to branches without pushing to master, is necessary.
• Knowledge of page speed tools, accessibility guidelines, and browser quirks is essential.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team is a must.
