Calendly is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join their Engineering team, focusing on innovation to enhance customer experience.
The engineer will report to an Engineering Manager and will be responsible for supporting features and architecture that maintain user confidence in Calendly.
The role involves working on a monolithic platform that is being decomposed into various services to scale the platform and team.
Responsibilities include building new features, scaling the platform and architecture, and creating tooling and automation for the delivery process.
The engineer will work with technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Typescript, Rails, NodeJS, React, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
Daily tasks include collaborating with the team to build features for enterprise customers, contributing to platform scaling, meeting with Product and Design teams, attending agile ceremonies, improving engineering practices, reviewing implementation plans, and mentoring team members.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4-6 years of professional software development experience in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
Strong proficiency in front-end web development using React and TypeScript is required, along with an understanding of backend engineering principles.
Experience in building and maintaining Node.js services that interface with a Ruby on Rails monolithic API or similar mixed-stack environments is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), microservices, and involvement in monolith-to-services modernization or large-scale refactoring initiatives is essential.
Proven ability to own features end-to-end, including technical discovery, design, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to dissect complex systems and deliver scalable solutions.
A commitment to writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code with an emphasis on readability, simplicity, and performance is expected.
Candidates must be adaptable to new technologies, evolving architectural patterns, and changing organizational priorities.
Availability for participation in an on-call rotation is required to respond to critical production issues outside of regular hours.

The expected annual base salary varies by location, with Tier 1 salaries ranging from $148,800 to $223,200, Tier 2 from $136,400 to $204,600, and Tier 3 from $124,000 to $186,000.
