The role is remote and full-time, focusing on the development and maintenance of mission-critical applications for a federal client.
The engineer will work on modern, microservices-based architectures within AWS, utilizing a variety of open-source technologies.
Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and supporting full-stack applications in an Agile environment for federal customers.
The engineer will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to plan, design, and deliver high-quality solutions.
Participation in Agile ceremonies such as planning, refinement, estimation, design, retrospectives, and demos is expected.
The role involves implementing unit and integration tests to ensure the quality, reliability, and maintainability of all new and updated code.
The engineer will work across multiple languages, frameworks, and platforms including Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, ReactJS, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences is essential, providing insights and improvement suggestions.
Continuous improvement is encouraged by identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience is required.
Proficiency in several programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, ReactJS, Python, and Ruby on Rails is necessary.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and tools, including AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, etc.), Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Swagger, and New Relic is required.
Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle RDS, or DynamoDB is essential.
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
At least 2 years of experience in an Agile development environment (SAFe or Scrum preferred) is necessary.
U.S. Citizenship is required, with residence in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance is necessary, with existing clearance preferred.
The candidate must work East Coast core hours: 9:30 AM β 3:30 PM ET (+2 hours earlier/later), totaling 40 hours per week with occasional flexibility and on-call needs.
The position allows for 100% remote work across the United States.
