Description:

• Skylight is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their Moonshots team, focusing on developing innovative features that enhance user experiences.
• The role involves working on both frontend and backend aspects of applications, contributing to a product enjoyed by millions.
• The engineer will collaborate directly with the GM of New Businesses and the cofounder/CTO to build AI-powered features.
• Primary technologies include Ruby on Rails and Typescript (React and React Native), with a focus on integrating with large language models (LLMs) from vendors like OpenAI.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, and launching user-facing features powered by LLMs, owning major product initiatives, collaborating with Product and Design teams, integrating with third-party APIs, contributing to codebases, writing maintainable code, and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 6+ years of experience building software products end to end.
• Deep mastery of either Ruby on Rails or Typescript (React/React Native) is required, along with working fluency in the other.
• A demonstrated ability to ship zero-to-one products as a solo engineer or team lead is essential.
• Experience working with LLMs or a strong interest in developing Gen AI applications is necessary.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills across disciplines are required.
• Startup experience is strongly preferred.
