Description:
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will work on the Mood Boards team at Houzz, shaping creative tools for designers and homeowners.
You will be responsible for owning complete features from concept to launch, demonstrating self-motivation and independence.
The tech stack includes React, Node, GraphQL, PHP, AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Docker, and more.
Your work will impact millions of users globally, helping them visualize and plan their dream spaces.
You will transform high-level ideas into live products used by homeowners and professionals.
Responsibilities include building features for the web application, API design, frontend integration, and backend implementation.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and design teams.
You will focus on building and improving Houzz Moodboards, enhancing the overall experience and introducing new features.
Requirements:
Proficiency in web stack programming, including schema design and user-facing interfaces, is required.
Experience with modern frontend technologies, particularly React, is necessary.
You should have experience working with product and UX/UI designers to create excellent user experiences.
Collaboration with other engineers on substantial engineering projects is expected.
A B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience is necessary.
Ideally, you should have independence and experience owning complete products and features.
A desire to build engaging consumer experiences is preferred.
Comfort with fast-paced, data-driven projects is ideal.
4+ years of engineering experience is preferred.
Experience designing web application APIs is a plus.
Familiarity with the HTML canvas API is beneficial.
Experience with backend programming languages such as PHP, Java, or Python is advantageous.
Experience with monitoring platforms like Pingdom, Grafana, Prometheus, Bosun, and TSDB is a plus.
Participation in an on-call rotation is preferred.
