Description:
Homebase is seeking a Full Stack Engineer who is passionate about building clean, scalable, and high-impact software.
The role involves working on a product that supports over 2.5 million hourly workers and 150,000 small businesses.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining scalable full-stack features using React for the frontend and Ruby on Rails for the backend.
The engineer will partner with Product, Design, and other engineers to ship impactful features for small business teams.
Contributions to system design and architecture decisions that support performance and scale are expected.
The role includes incorporating AI tools and models to enhance user experiences.
Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code with a focus on quality and speed is essential.
Participation in code reviews, technical deep-dives, and sprint planning with a cross-functional squad is required.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 3+ years of full-stack development experience, ideally with Ruby on Rails and React.
Applicants must be comfortable designing and implementing complex features end-to-end.
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), API design, and web performance is necessary.
A demonstrated curiosity and experimentation with AI tools, LLMs, or automation frameworks is required.
A strong product mindset is essential, with a focus on user experience beyond just coding.
Experience working in a regulated domain (HR, education, healthcare, fintech) is a nice-to-have but not required.
