DigitalFish is seeking a Software Engineer I for Android to help build next-generation technologies for digital media creation and consumption.
The role involves developing resilient and scalable solutions for both internal and external projects in collaboration with partners in animation, visual effects, mixed reality, social media, and game production.
Responsibilities include working closely with product and design teams to create innovative application experiences for the Android platform.
The engineer will implement custom native user interfaces using modern Android Jetpack Compose, focusing on commercial app UI, shared UI components, accessibility features, and responsive UI.
The position requires taking ownership of technical issues and resolving them, as well as analyzing and optimizing UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance.
Requirements:
A BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of object-oriented software development experience.
Experience in shipping a commercial application on Android across multiple versions and devices is necessary.
Strong cross-discipline collaboration skills are essential.
Proficiency in building complex applications using Java and Kotlin with the Android SDK is required.
Candidates should be self-motivated with strong communication skills and able to work both in a team and independently.
Experience in building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques, is required.
Experience with multithreading programming and mobile memory management is desirable.
Familiarity with the iOS platform is also desirable.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.

The annual compensation includes equity based on qualifications.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $135,000, plus equity based on qualifications.
The base pay will consider internal parity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
