  • DigitalFish is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build next-level creative pipelines.
  • The role involves developing Python scripts, Houdini nodes, and Houdini Digital Assets (HDA) to streamline creative workflows and pipeline integration.
  • Responsibilities include participating in daily scrums, gathering requirements, planning, and executing tasks for pipeline delivery.
  • The engineer will collaborate with peers in an Agile environment, conduct code reviews, and identify integration and deployment challenges.
  • Documentation of design, implementation, and usage of the pipeline is required.
  • The engineer will also educate end users on new capabilities unlocked by the pipeline.

Requirements:

  • A BSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields is required.
  • Candidates must have 7+ years of experience developing pipeline solutions in a visual-effects or animation-production studio, or a combination of an advanced degree plus relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Houdini, including the creation and maintenance of HDAs and VEX code, is essential.
  • Experience in writing Python code for creative pipelines, particularly with relevant Houdini modules, is required.
  • Candidates should be experts in workflows and pipelines for VFX production and adept at writing code for asset-management systems.
  • Familiarity with Katana and/or Maya is preferred.
  • Experience working collaboratively with version control systems, such as Git, is necessary.
  • A working familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and able to manage projects independently from start to finish.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000, plus equity based on qualifications.
