DigitalFish is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build next-level creative pipelines.
The role involves developing Python scripts, Houdini nodes, and Houdini Digital Assets (HDA) to streamline creative workflows and pipeline integration.
Responsibilities include participating in daily scrums, gathering requirements, planning, and executing tasks for pipeline delivery.
The engineer will collaborate with peers in an Agile environment, conduct code reviews, and identify integration and deployment challenges.
Documentation of design, implementation, and usage of the pipeline is required.
The engineer will also educate end users on new capabilities unlocked by the pipeline.
Requirements:
A BSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience developing pipeline solutions in a visual-effects or animation-production studio, or a combination of an advanced degree plus relevant work experience.
Proficiency in Houdini, including the creation and maintenance of HDAs and VEX code, is essential.
Experience in writing Python code for creative pipelines, particularly with relevant Houdini modules, is required.
Candidates should be experts in workflows and pipelines for VFX production and adept at writing code for asset-management systems.
Familiarity with Katana and/or Maya is preferred.
Experience working collaboratively with version control systems, such as Git, is necessary.
A working familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes is required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
Candidates must be self-motivated and able to manage projects independently from start to finish.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.

The annual salary range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000, plus equity based on qualifications.
