The role involves developing and maintaining APIs for system and application integrations.
Tools like Google Cloud API Gateway, Cloud Endpoints, and Service Accounts will be used for secure integrations.
Automation will be implemented using tools like Terraform, Gitlab CI/CD, or Google Cloud SDK.
The engineer will configure and deploy virtual machines, networking, and storage resources within Google Cloud.
Setting up containerized environments with Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) is part of the job.
Data migration from on-premises databases or other cloud providers to Google Cloud platforms will be performed, including implementing ETL processes and optimizing data pipelines.
Cloud security best practices such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security will be implemented.
Security audits and assessments will be conducted to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
The engineer will manage security policies and access controls using Google Cloud Security tools.
Monitoring of cloud resources and applications will be done using Google Cloud Operations suite for performance and availability.
Troubleshooting issues related to integration, network, and cloud services is expected.
Ongoing support for cloud infrastructure and resolving incidents in production environments will be provided.
Collaboration with development teams, business stakeholders, and clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions is essential.
Documentation of integration processes, architecture designs, and best practices for internal use and client delivery will be required.
Requirements:
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a federal background investigation are mandatory.
A minimum of 8 years of hands-on professional cloud experience, with at least 3 years specifically with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), is required.
A Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field is necessary.
High proficiency in GCP and experience with AWS, along with a good understanding of different cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS), is essential.
Experience using tools to automate the provisioning, scaling, and management of cloud environments is required, along with a good understanding of infrastructure deployments and management (IaC).
The candidate should have experience with building, testing, and deploying applications in a cloud environment using DevSecOps and CI/CD.
Skills in automating workflows and integrating with cloud platforms are necessary.
Understanding how to interact with cloud services programmatically using APIs and SDKs is required.
Experience in setting up and configuring monitoring for performance, security, and availability using tools such as Datadog is essential.
The ability to collaborate with technical SMEs, security teams, and OCIO to integrate cloud services is required.
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FedRAMP and FISMA is necessary.
Familiarity with container orchestration and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud database services, and storage solutions is required.
