Thales is seeking a qualified Systems Engineering Services Specialist for the role of Senior Cloud Systems Engineer (AWS / Terraform) to support deployment and operational activities within their cloud environments.
The position focuses on provisioning and configuring AWS infrastructure, enhancing deployment automation, and authoring Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to streamline system operations.
This role requires a hybrid working model with approximately 60% on-site presence at Thales’ Austin, TX location.
Key responsibilities include building and configuring VPCs, deploying Network Load Balancers (NLBs) and Application Load Balancers (ALBs), configuring infrastructure using GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Terraform, developing Datadog dashboards for system monitoring, authoring operational documentation, and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have proficiency in AWS cloud services, including EC2, ALBs, NLBs, FSX clusters, and EKS.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform, is required.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline creation and management in GitLab is necessary.
Knowledge of system monitoring tools such as Datadog is essential.
Proven ability to design and deploy scalable, resilient infrastructure is required.
Hands-on experience with networking concepts, including VPC creation, routing, and DNS configuration, is necessary.
Expertise in Active Directory and domain controller deployment and management is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required for security clearance, along with familiarity with CFIUS clearance and background screening processes.
Excellent documentation and communication skills are essential, along with a collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
A minimum of 6+ years of relevant systems engineering experience is required, with the ability to work independently.
