The role is for an Intermediate Backend Engineer to join a globally distributed team, focusing on building scalable APIs and services using TypeScript and NestJS on Google Cloud Platform.
The position is hybrid-friendly, with a preference for candidates based in or commutable to the Delhi/NCR region of India, working hours overlapping with Eastern Standard Timezone (EST).
The engineer will support Kraft Heinz in their digital transformation efforts, contributing to significant projects like the What's Cooking App and a robust Customer Data Platform (CDP).
Responsibilities include designing and implementing high-quality backend code, developing and maintaining APIs, collaborating with frontend teams, and staying updated on technology trends.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal communication) is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the backend domain is necessary.
Experience working with remote teams in North America and Latin America is essential for smooth collaboration across time zones.
Solid experience with TypeScript and the NestJS framework is required, along with knowledge of authentication workflows and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).
Familiarity with testing frameworks and best practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing, is expected.
A solid understanding of web technologies and backend design patterns is necessary.
Experience with designing applications that use and consume databases (SQL, ORM, etc.) is required.
Extensive experience with building and maintaining versioned APIs is essential.
Some knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent cloud platforms is preferred.
Understanding of security best practices, including CSP and OWASP Top 10, is necessary.
The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is required.
Experience working in fast-paced, Agile environments while balancing priorities across multiple projects is essential.
