Remote Intermediate Back End(Ruby) Developer - 12 Months Contract

• As an Intermediate Back End (Ruby) Developer, you will develop and scale the backend by building and optimizing Ruby on Rails services that power Fullscript.
• You will design and refine APIs, ensuring that GraphQL services are fast, reliable, and easy to maintain.
• Your role will involve shipping features that matter by collaborating with frontend teams to enhance core functionality.
• You will write clean, test-driven code and follow best practices to maintain code quality.
• You will optimize backend services for efficiency, improving performance and scalability for high-volume traffic.
• Collaboration is key; you will share knowledge and learn with a high-performing team.

Requirements:

• You must be a software engineer first, taking pride in writing scalable and maintainable code.
• You should have hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, building and maintaining production applications.
• Comfort with JavaScript or JS frameworks (such as React, Vue, AngularJS, Next, or similar) is required, as you will contribute to the frontend when needed.
• You need to think in systems, understanding how backend services connect, scale, and evolve.
• Experience in building purposeful APIs with GraphQL and designing efficient, well-structured APIs is essential.
• You should thrive in collaboration, working well across teams including frontend, product, and fellow backend developers.
• Bonus points if you have experience scaling high-traffic Rails applications, have worked with React or GraphQL, or are passionate about healthcare innovation.
