Remote Intermediate DevOps Engineer

Description:

• Intermediate DevOps Engineers at Coconut Software contribute to infrastructure and reliability initiatives by working closely with senior team members and cross-functional partners.
• The Intermediate DevOps Engineer will be an integral part of site reliability at Coconut, supporting efforts to improve infrastructure, reliability, and CI/CD practices while gaining experience in cloud and automation tools.
• Security is a core aspect of the culture, and the Intermediate DevOps Engineer will document and practice the highest security standards.

• Participation in a shared on-call rotation to support production systems and respond to incidents is required.
• Responsibilities include planning, deploying, and maintaining critical business applications, collaborating with senior engineers, maintaining Kubernetes clusters, and supporting reliability projects.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, with the ability to think critically and collaborate effectively.
• A solid understanding of DevOps fundamentals and eagerness to grow expertise is necessary.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure roles is required.
• Experience working with cloud networking and DevOps tools in a production environment is essential.
• Hands-on experience deploying services to AWS or another cloud platform is required.
• Basic proficiency in Terraform is necessary.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration tools, cloud infrastructure concepts, and CI/CD pipelines is required.
• Experience using monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) to detect issues and analyze system health is necessary.
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar tools for task management and sprint planning is required.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix administration with a desire to grow deeper expertise is necessary.
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services to improve the continuous deployment process is required.
• A good understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Shell) is necessary.
• Familiarity with networking basics such as DNS, IP addressing, and ACLs is required.
• Experience with MySQL and Redis management is necessary.
• General banking knowledge or knowledge related to Wealth Management / Private banking would be an asset.
