  • Enterprise Horizon Consulting Group is seeking a motivated Jr. Database Administrator (DBA) to support a critical project for a government customer.
  • This position offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow skills while working on impactful projects in a collaborative team environment.
  • Responsibilities include assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems such as MS SQL, Oracle, and Access under the supervision of senior DBAs.
  • The role involves monitoring database performance and troubleshooting basic issues to support stability and reliability.
  • The DBA will support data backup and recovery tasks, following established procedures.
  • Learning and applying Department of Defense (DoD) security practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, is essential.
  • The position requires helping to implement database user access controls and permissions based on defined roles.
  • Assisting with database documentation efforts, including configuration records, procedures, and user guides, is part of the job.
  • Collaboration with developers and other IT staff to support application development and database integration tasks is expected.
  • The DBA will contribute to database testing and validation efforts using SQL and scripting tools.
  • Participation in data modeling activities and assisting with updates to database structures is required.
  • Staying engaged with learning new database technologies, tools, and industry best practices is encouraged.
  • This is a remote position with occasional travel to Philadelphia, PA.

Requirements:

  • An active DOD Secret Clearance is required for this position.
  • An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • An IAT I certification (A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, or SSCP) is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of database administration experience is required.
  • The candidate must have a willingness to learn and take feedback from senior administrators.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow project guidance is necessary.
