Smartsheet is seeking a proven Large Enterprise Solutions Engineer to provide technical leadership throughout the enterprise sales process.
The role involves serving as a trusted solution and technical advisor during the sales process, ensuring successful Smartsheet deployment and adoption.
Responsibilities include partnering with enterprise sales executives, providing advice as a Smartsheet subject matter expert, and designing creative solutions to customer requirements.
The engineer will represent Smartsheet’s technical capabilities, support prospects in evaluations, and travel to customer sites as a technical resource.
The position requires developing deep Smartsheet relevance for key functional areas and serving as a front-line expert for technical issues.
Collaboration with Marketing and Product Management is essential to develop repeatable solutions and advocate for customer needs.
The engineer will also prepare technical responses to prospect questions and help define best practices for large enterprises.
Performance targets must be met and exceeded, along with other assigned duties.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer in the SaaS and/or enterprise software industry.
A passion for web-based technologies and a desire to understand Smartsheet’s functionality and use cases is required.
Substantial experience in creating MS Excel-based solutions for collaboration, workflow, and project management is necessary.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for explaining technical subjects to non-technical personnel.
The ability to quickly build credibility and resolve customer technical issues is important.
Candidates should have experience in a complex, solution-based enterprise sales process and in a fast-paced software company.
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is required.
Familiarity with tools such as Clarizen, Planview, Workfront, Smartsheet, MS Projects, Google apps, Salesforce.com, Asana, and Excel is necessary.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
