Description:

  • Consumer Reports is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to a fair and just marketplace for consumers.
  • The organization is seeking a Lead AI/ML Engineer to execute a strategic multi-year roadmap focused on generative AI.
  • The role involves leveraging emerging data technologies and applied AI/ML techniques to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable production-ready applications.
  • The Lead AI/ML Engineer will report to the Associate Director, AI/ML & Machine Learning and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business challenges into specific AI/ML problems with measurable outcomes.
  • Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, leading AI/ML initiatives, collaborating with various teams to build automated end-to-end AI/ML pipelines, researching the latest AI/ML technologies, advocating for responsible AI practices, and mentoring team members on AI/ML engineering best practices.
  • This is a remote position and is not eligible for sponsorship.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have 7+ years of professional working experience in AI/ML engineering projects.
  • Strong foundations in Computer Science, Math, Probability, Statistics, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI concepts are essential.
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, Unix Scripting, and related libraries and frameworks is required.
  • Experience in building end-to-end production-grade AI/ML pipelines in cloud environments, specifically AWS and Databricks, is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are needed to effectively partner with business and technology teams.
