Description:

  • We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our data function.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in data engineering and data warehousing, driving forward our Quantum modelling efforts.
  • This role will be key in structuring large amounts of data available internally and externally for reporting and analytics.
  • The position primarily focuses on our Latin American cases.
  • The data engineering team will build out Quantification data marts on our Azure data platform, sourcing data from our Case Management system (Litify/Salesforce), Client questionnaires, evidence submissions, and third-party data sources.
  • You will work closely with the global Technology & Data team, leveraging existing data platform architecture and Pogust Goodhead datasets.
  • The wider team will share best practices, data governance, and business knowledge to enhance delivery for colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data engineering/data warehousing is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Azure SQL Database and SQL Server is essential.
  • Experience with big data technologies and frameworks including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Hadoop, Spark, and Azure Databricks is necessary.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps is required.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, specifically GIT, is needed.
  • Strong programming skills in SQL, Python/Pyspark, Java, or Scala are mandatory.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools and platforms such as Azure Data Factory and Apache NiFi is important.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and data services, particularly Azure, is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data systems and processes are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and accuracy are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.
