Remote Lead DevOps Engineer (Contractor)

• This role involves taking ownership of technical decisions, collaborating with global teams, and shaping DevOps practices across multiple portfolio companies.
• Responsibilities include designing and implementing cloud infrastructure strategies in AWS/Azure, leading DevOps engineering efforts, mentoring junior team members, and translating business requirements into scalable infrastructure roadmaps.
• The engineer will establish tooling and DevOps best practices, lead complex cloud migrations, and coordinate with distributed teams in the US and India.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of DevOps experience with AWS.
• Proven experience in presenting technical solutions to executives is required.
• Experience leading DevOps teams or technical infrastructure projects is necessary.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform (infrastructure as code) is essential.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, and ECS migrations is required.
• Candidates should have experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools from any major platform is needed.
• Incident management and 24/7 production operations experience is required.
• Candidates must have skills in cost optimization and infrastructure performance tuning.
• Fluency in English for client-facing collaboration is mandatory.
