The Lead DevOps Engineer will drive Nextech’s DevOps initiatives, providing daily technical direction and mentorship.

The position combines hands-on engineering with team leadership responsibilities.
The Lead DevOps Engineer will work closely with DevOps, Cloud, and Software Engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize infrastructure and automation strategies.

The Lead DevOps Engineer will drive innovation and foster experimentation in CI/CD, automation, and system architecture.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
The position involves promoting ongoing learning and keeping current with new technologies and patterns.
Responsibilities also include architecting and maintaining scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, developing and managing CI/CD pipelines, and overseeing configuration management solutions.
The role requires enhancing monitoring, alerting, and observability in collaboration with Software Engineering.
The Lead DevOps Engineer will partner with product and engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable infrastructure solutions.
The position includes providing technical coaching, constructive feedback, and identifying growth opportunities for DevOps engineers.
Requirements:
A minimum of 7 years in software or infrastructure engineering roles is required.
At least 5 years of DevOps experience, providing technical direction to DevOps Engineers, is necessary.
Expertise in Azure or AWS environments is required, with a preference for Azure.
Demonstrated success in implementing DevOps practices is essential.
Hands-on experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform), scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps preferred) is required.
Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems is necessary.
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Ansible experience and one or more Cloud-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Expert) are preferred.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT best practices is a plus.
