Remote Lead Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

Description:

• Journee is seeking a Lead Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure to join their software engineering department.
• The role involves managing large-scale deployments of thousands of concurrent GPU servers, focusing on performance and efficiency.
• Responsibilities include architecting and implementing systems for dynamic deployment, routing, and load balancing of GPU servers across multiple clouds and regions.
• The engineer will design and implement flexible deployment pipelines to ensure efficient and streamlined processes that promote scalability and reliability.
• Conducting in-depth research, documenting best practices, and championing the adoption of simple robust tooling is also part of the job.
• The position requires playing a central role in building testable, operable, and maintainable software.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have strong programming skills and proficiency with either TypeScript or Go.
• A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience with AWS is required.
• A strong grasp of an additional leading cloud platform (such as Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle OCI) or on-premise deployments is necessary.
• Candidates should have strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with tools such as AWS CDK, Pulumi, or Terraform.
• Deep expertise in serverless architectures and security best practices is essential.
• A solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker is required.
• While a formal computer science education is not mandatory, demonstrable practical experience and a passion for innovation are highly valued.
• Candidates must be highly adaptable and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced startup environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Professional fluency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
