Description:

  • As the Lead Frontend Engineer, you will own the architecture, standards, and delivery of all client-facing UIs, driving technical excellence across multiple teams.
  • This is a fully remote role that involves more than just feature work; you will design and evolve the frontend platform, including component libraries, design systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • You will set best practices for performance, security, and accessibility, and mentor other engineers to adopt these practices.
  • You will be responsible for designing, building, and evolving the core component library and design system to ensure consistency and speed across product teams.
  • You will establish and maintain coding standards, linting rules, commit conventions, branch policies, and release checklists.
  • You will lead code reviews focusing on maintainability, scalability, and best practices, and mentor engineers through various methods such as pairing sessions and regular feedback loops.
  • You will partner with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend teams to translate requirements into robust, performant front-end solutions.
  • You will define key front-end health metrics and implement monitoring and alerting systems, while also driving iterative improvements to the codebase health.

Requirements:

  • You must have 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a frontend-lead or architect role.
  • Mastery of React, Next.js, and TypeScript is required, including knowledge of SSR/SSG, dynamic imports, and code-splitting.
  • A strong grasp of modern styling techniques such as CSS Modules, Tailwind, and Emotion, as well as design-system tooling, is necessary.
  • You should have a proven track record of defining and enforcing coding standards, linting/prettier rules, component guidelines, and release workflows.
  • Experience in building or scaling a shared component library or micro-frontend architecture is essential.
  • Expertise in performance optimization techniques and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.x) is required.
  • Solid experience with end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress or Playwright is necessary.
  • Familiarity with integrating security best practices into the development lifecycle is required.
  • A strong understanding of CI/CD processes, code review workflows, and quality gates is essential.
  • You must demonstrate the ability to coach, mentor, and upskill mid- and junior-level engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to translate complex technical decisions into clear guidance for cross-functional partners.
