Remote Lead Machine Learning Engineer

Description:

• The Lead Machine Learning Engineer will lead a team of 3-5 ML engineers to build next-generation personalization and optimization systems.

• Responsibilities include architecting multi-stage ranking systems, defining a technical roadmap aligned with business objectives, and driving improvements in model quality and system reliability.
• The engineer will establish best practices for model development and deployment, partner with product, data science, and engineering teams, and contribute hands-on to critical model development, with 50% of the role focused on coding.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in ML engineering and at least 2 years of experience leading technical teams.
• Deep expertise in large-scale personalization systems is required.
• Experience with modern ML architectures such as two-tower, transformer-based, and graph neural networks is essential.
• Strong system design skills for ML infrastructure are necessary.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive technical decisions is required.
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships and project delivery is important.
• A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience is mandatory.

Benefits:

• The compensation for this position ranges from $130,000 to $250,000, based on market rates and Launch Potato’s Levels Framework.
